HOW IT WORKS

The formulas behind the calculators.

How do I convert decimal odds to American odds?

For decimal odds of 2.00 or more, American odds are (decimal − 1) × 100 with a plus sign: 2.50 becomes +150. Below 2.00 they are −100 ÷ (decimal − 1): 1.50 becomes −200.

What is implied probability?

The probability a price represents, before any margin is removed: 1 divided by the decimal odds. Odds of 1.91 imply 52.4%.

What is a fair price?

The decimal odds that match a probability exactly, with no margin: 1 divided by the probability. A 64% chance has a fair price of 1.56.

How is bookmaker margin calculated?

Add the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. The amount above 100% is the overround; a two-way market at 1.91 and 1.91 carries a margin of about 4.7%. Dividing each implied probability by the total gives the no-vig probabilities.

What does expected value mean here?

The average return per unit staked if the probability you enter is right: probability × decimal odds − 1. It is a mathematical estimate, not a prediction of any single result.
